Palindrones is an emotionally immersive, captivating, dark electronic duo from South London. They take listeners on a shimmering and cathartic sonic journey with dreamy Industrial Synthpop, infused with pounding rhythms, haunting, evocative vocals and esoteric ambiance.

Formed in 2020 by Jamie and Karen, Palindrones emerged during lockdown; songwriting was their way to stay connected whilst living on opposite sides of London. Their name, Palindrones, speaks to the duality at the heart of their artistry—where symmetry, reflection, and contradiction fuel both their music and their creative process. This duality isn’t just conceptual; it’s embedded into the music itself. Whether it’s the interplay between light and dark, soft and intense, digital and organic, Palindrones embrace contrasts to create music that challenges, provokes, and resonates, spreading a message of hope, positivity and unity, transporting audiences to surging, euphoric dance floors and otherworldly spaces.

In their live performances, Palindrones are known for their captivating stage presence, often blending visuals and sound to create an immersive experience. Whether they’re performing intimate sets or headlining larger venues, the duo always bring an infectious energy that lifts the audience into a joyful state. Palindrones have performed all across the UK, with appearances at Resistanz 2025, Whitby Goth Weekend, The Legendary Faery Festival, Goths On A Field, Dark Fest, Cable Festival and Alice’s Wicked Tea Party. They have had the pleasure of sharing the stage with Synthpop legends A Flock Of Seagulls, NNHMN, Promenade Cinema, Auger, Je T’aime, Children On Stun, In Strict Confidence, Beborn Beton and 90’s pioneer of electronic music Deep Forest

Abraxas & The Brightling Star

'Abraxas'

Serene liquid Drum and Bass anyone?

There's a lot going on in this track, a beautiful melody with layers of deep bass, speed drums, piano, pitch perfect vocals, and samples.. It is something that is at odds with the very nature of its own being, a chill out track with high BPM and energy, two things that should not work but absolutely do...

This is something Palindrones do exceptionally well, blending the personalities of both Karen's artistic vision in equal measure to that of Jamie's, colliding together, two very different ideas into something that works in stunning harmony.

'The Brightling Star'

This starts off with that deep chest felt synth base that puts you in mind of mediation, and yet Karen's vocals transform it in to a track of uplifting mirth.

When the SICK breakdown at 1:18 occurs, the track flips entirely in to a stomping EDM dance track.

The two become the many, the many become the one

Ever ceasing to amaze, it then drifts naturally in to trance reminiscent of the 90's-00's in melody, with the vocals maintaining the EDM feel alongside it.

Some damn good drums and distortion hammer out the exit section of the track leaving you feeling like your mind and soul just had a head to toe massage! (I think I'll be putting this one in a DJ playlist soon enough!)

Abraxas Reconstructed

'Slowed + Reverb'

Well that certainly is a change I didn't expect, with the reverb giving a strong non-binary edge to the vocals now. It also adds a real sense of depth, seriousness, and poignancy on top of an already thought provoking track.

Cryogenica

This remix adds a melancholy touch and makes the vocals far stronger and clearer laser focusing them as the main focus of the track, lowering the volume of the backing layers. A nice approach that adds a wonderful addition to the listening experience of Abraxas overall.

Still Forever

Anyone seen the wonderful show Bee and Puppycat? (If not go and watch it!) Still Forever have added a sense of childhood magic to the sound of the track much like that show is FULL of musically; Whilst still adding extra layers of echo and reverb that twists the song in to a trippy drum dance.

Hexial

Much like their Hexial name, the track does feel a lot more witchy, potent with magic, and spell like in it's atmosphere and distortion. Turning a chill track in to something far more industrial and dark with the way it breaks the track up.

Pax Abraxas

This is wonderous. It slows the track down to a gentle crawl, making it smooth, dreamlike, powerful. Like a cyberpunk drug that slows time to a near stop like in Judge Dredd, this truly adds a masterful meditative experience to wrap up the Abraxas releases.

..Perfect..

Conclusion

Palindrones are a true gem of a band that I feel is destined for far wider recognition soon enough. They effortlessly blend the dance us industrial lovers need, but with the beautiful melody of those more in love with Liquid Drum and Bass, Trance, or melodic techno.

Abraxas and The Brightling Star are two songs that bring joy, simple as that. They are a delightful listen, filled with little injections of dopamine for every taste, around every melodic corner.

Truly a wonderful dual release to introduce you to Palindrones if you're new to them!

Thank you!
