Single Review: J:Dead - Feeling Alone

Jay Taylor has been a busy fellow, and is currently releasing 1 single a month for 12 month solid, today we cover the 4th and latest single release 'Feeling alone'. Lets once again jump in to one of the finest male voices on the alternative electro scene.

UK industrial artist j: dead launches 12-month release campaign with revitalised live inspired sound

UK-based industrial-electronic artist j: dead, signed to the renowned German label Infacted Recordings, is launching a bold new era with an ambitious 12 releases in 12 months campaign. This strategy marks a powerful evolution in his sound; directly inspired by the raw, high-energy atmosphere of his acclaimed live performances.

Fusing aggressive electronic production with anthemic hooks and relentless rhythms, j:dead's new material captures the intensity of the stage and delivers it in every track. This isn't just music for headphones; it's built for clubs, festi-vals, and dark alternative spaces across the globe.

Having already performed at some of Europe's leading dark electronic festivals including Amphi Festival, Wave Gotik Treffen, and Plage Noire, j: dead is quickly becoming a standout name in the international industrial scene. His refreshed sound is perfectly tuned for live settings, with each release designed to keep audiences moving and engaged.

The campaign kicked off on 5th December 2025, setting the tone for a year-long journey of energy, evolution, and momentum. Musically, “Feeling Alone” stands as one of j:dead's most aggressive and powerful releases to date. With a heavy emphasis on industrial influences, the track combines harsh electronic textures, relentless rhythms, and fierce vocal delivery into a cathartic explosion of sound. It is designed to strike with intensity on the dancefloor while reflecting the turmoil of its subject matter on a deeply personal level.

As part of the ongoing campaign of 12 singles in 12 months, j:dead continues to refine his unique balance of dark electronics, anthemic hooks, and raw emotion. With each release, the project reveals new dimensions of vulnerability and strength; “Feeling Alone” being a defining moment of unflinching aggression and emotional honesty.

UK-based industrial-electronic act j: dead is the brainchild of solo artist Jay Taylor, whose dynamic blend of dark electronics, anthemic hooks, and emotionally charged vocals has carved a distinct space in the global alternative scene. Known for delivering high-impact tracks that bridge raw industrial textures with ra-zor-sharp pop sensibility, j: dead continues to evolve with a sound built as much for the dancefloor as it is for emotional resonance.

After making waves with standout performances across premier European festivals such as Amphi, Wave Gotik Tref-fen, and Plage Noire, j:dead has emerged as a compelling live force, where his boundless energy and commanding stage presence elevate the music beyond the studio. This live energy now forms the core of his latest sonic direction.

December 2025 marks the launch of a bold new chapter: a 12-month release campaign via Infacted Recordings, delivering a new single every month. Each track is crafted with the immediacy of a live set - aggressive, melodic, and built to connect viscerally with audiences

Balancing harsh electronics with an unmistakable vocal identity, j: dead offers a powerful synthesis of modern industrial and alternative pop. Whether in clubs, festival stages, or personal playlists, his music refuses to stand still; always pushing forward, always hitting hard

Epitome of Epic -It was without a doubt the most lively show I attended the entire weekend, as frontman Jay Taylor bounced around the stage with enthusiasm and delivered his vocals to perfection.

Reflections of Darkness - And when Jay Taylor left the stage during 'Afraid' and half of the song pilgrimage'd through the audience, the mood was at its peak. After this performance it was already clear that I had made the right decision for today.

Elektro Vox - j:dead is one of the most interesting and ear catching artists on the scene, putting out tracks that feel not only brand spanking-ly fresh but also full of nostalgia for what makes electronic music great in the first place.

Side-line - j: dead remains an artist with his own approach in sound. Some might call it Electro-Pop but the harder and harsher approach rather sounds like a Dark-and/or Industrial Pop format. The vocals are switching from clear, powerful passages to harsh parts. The choruses are melodic.

Review

Whispering the opening verse backed by tense and fast drums, the quick succession of melodic singing and impressive growling that follow in quick succession show you in a short sharp burst exactly what J:Dead is all about, entertaining electro pop melodies with a thrashing of vocal metal to season it.

(A lot like if Alexisonfire were just a touch more electronic, and a little less metal.) Touching on sentiments of going one's own way and the loneliness that can follow, the track certainly has a deep root of emotional importance for Jay having been involved in multiple musical projects throughout the years. It is good to see that his signature sound is continuing to refine, to polish, and to still sound just as fresh and good now as when J:Dead first started.

Random thought, some of the subtle background drums between 3:30 and 4:00 kind of remind me of the iconic drum riff from The Cure's 'Burn' - It's subtle, and feels somewhat like a honourary nod to the Goth roots of his fanbase. (Even if accidental) Though I am looking at you - Image on the single cover..

This is a track that truly needs a high volume to bring about maximum quality, from the silken synths, to the skilful drums, and the - as ever - catchy chorus.

Conclusion

J:Dead is presenting us with a great selection of tracks so far in the this run of 12, with the aggression of 'Feeling Alone' hitting home the reason why he's found success with fans over the last few years.. A stellar voice, catchy melodies, impressive growls and screams, to one hell of a good ear for using the perfect synths and percussion throughout. It's clear as day to see. There's not many as talented as Jay, especially in the synthpop scene.

Thank you!
